How do you hide an elephant? It is amazing how quiet and elephant can be. If it lies down and is still it looks like a gray stone. A large one for sure but they are not so easy to see. When they are moving in a big group they are easy to see. One has only a right tusk another only a left. Some are big and some are smaller. Big lone males, cooperative females and babies, so cute between the females, hmmm, biology in action.
We went to Liwonde National Park before the serious schooling and work begins next week. We spent one night at a lovely villa. We booked into the dormitory, because there were 3 of us. The next night we went to a Safari camp so we could go into the park and see the animals but the night watchman woke us that the elephants were at the camp so we bolted out of bed to see the elephants passing by. We went to the elevated platform and watched them walking toward the river.
We saw many other animals as well, monkey, baboons, bushbuck, water buffalo, impala, kudu and hornbills, all in 3 three hours in the wild. Amazing!
